CRAFT CLASS: Obstacles to Your Success

by MM Pollard

August 7-Sept. 1, 2017

You can almost certainly name your obstacle, but thinking of ways to overcome it is much harder than it sounds. In this workshop, you’ll meet fifteen obstacles that writers face when trying to write their stories. You’ll also receive concrete methods to burst through each obstacle and continue on your way to your success. MM will comment on all homework posted when due, giving you feedback on your assignments, although homework is always optional. Here are the obstacles you will meet in this workshop:

  • The twin obstacles: procrastination and perfectionism
  • Pressure to write more, more, more
  • Classic problems with time management
  • Lack of physical, mental, emotional, and creative energy
  • The role of fear in writer’s block
  • Top nine common mistakes that slow down your writing

MM Pollard puts her training as a certified copy editor, her skill as English teacher extraordinaire, and her experience as editor with Black Velvet Seductions to good use in helping writers improve their language and writing skills through her fun presentations. She began giving workshops in 2012 and has presented online at various sites including her own, Workshops with MM, as well as in person at meetings and conferences.
